EBC Pads and grooved discs are all ECE R-90 approved or carry ABE and are one of the only upgrade brake ranges in the world approved to new European regulations. Branded with the Greenstuff or Redstuff logos, the EBC aramid fibre automotive brake pads are unique in their construction using hi-tech fibres such as Dupont® Kevlar® and Twaron®. Kevlar® for example is a high tech man-made aramid fibre that is 6 times as strong as steel when used in a matrix form, impervious to oils and chemicals, and can withstand temperatures over 1000° yet is extremely low in abrasion. Brake-in
This is a mild abrasive red coloured coating applied to the surface of the pads. It helps reduce bed-in time significantly and lightly scrubs the brake disc after new pad installation. THE BIG REASON why we use this at EBC on our pads is because our discs are zinc coated. Brake-InTM coating removes the zinc in a few miles allowing optimum braking to be achieved faster.
