Performance Free-flow Exhaust Systems
Janspeed Exhausts has a long and enviable history in Motorsport, winning our first touring car championship as far back as 1974, competing with a pair of Datsun Sunny’s in the Dutch Touring Car Championship. Since that first success, Janspeed has won a further 12 saloon car championships and three 24 hour events. Janspeed was responsible for the design, manufacture and running of the factory Nissan Primera’s touring cars between 1990 & 1994, collecting the Spanish Touring Car Championship along the way.
Janspeed is known the world over for performance-tuned, free-flow exhaust systems which are hand crafted to meet individual requirements of manufacturer’s specifications, producing over 50,000 per year. Janspeed recently designed and manufactured a replacement exhaust system for the Lexus IS200 supercharged car, that, when fitted reduces back pressure by 75%, lowers emissions and adds a further 18 bhp. This new exhaust system when fitted in conjunction with Janspeed Sports catalysts give the standard Lexus IS200 an increase in performance and reduces fuel consumption.
Janspeed expertise goes a lot deeper than just motor sport and exhausts; we have been commissioned for design, engineering and manufacturing projects by such prestigious marques as Lexus, Aston Martin, MG, Nissan, Rover, Chrysler, Lotus and Ford. The engines used in the Lotus Exige and 340R were made by Janspeed, and we were also responsible for the exclusive preparation of all the MGF Trophy cars from 1996 to 1999.

Janspeed have a separate, fully dedicated motor sport facility in purpose built premises at our disposal. Whether it be bodyshell , engine, transmission electronics or safety equipment, Janspeed can provide the complete package in total secrecy.
Janpseed prize confidentiality as highly as our technical ability. Thanks to our in-house capability, fewer outside sources are exposed to confidential projects. And being located in Salisbury, instead of the usual heartland of motorsport development, we're perfectly placed to reduce the likelihood of sensitive information leaking out around the neighbourhood.
Today, we're actively involved in a number of high-profile motorsports projects, working alongside major manufacturers and providing technical support to many top racing teams.
Special Projects
In recent years our special projects work has escalated, with contracts for manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Lotus, Ford Motor Co and MG Rover.
They know we have the people and resources to find the solutions to their problems. For instance, we utilize state of the art CAD/CAM IDEAS packages to allow our designers the freedom to create and evaluate quicker and more efficiently for rapid prototyping.
And because we have our own machine shop with CNC machining capability plus a head shop and fabrication shop, we're able to bring our expertise to bear in every other area of automotive manufacture - including powertrain, body, chassis and suspension.
In fact, we not only have the facility to design, manufacture, dyno-run and test engines; we could in fact design and build one from scratch.
What's more, all of our departments fully interface with each other, which gives us the ability to produce and control more work in-house than most other engineering companies.
