It was 1957 when Bilstein first teamed up with Mercedes and pioneered the first mono-tube gas pressure shock absorbers.
Bilstein started as they meant to go on and still lead the field by designing and producing the very best shock absorbers on the market.
Because of the decades of experience Bilstein has, they know that no two drivers or vehicles are the same, knowing that what a driver needs from their shock absorbers is completely different from person to person.
This is why Bilstein shock absorbers come in a number of different varieties, each with a unique set up. Whether it is for sporty handling and cornering, or for slogging through harsh terrain and weather, Bilstein has premium shocks that can handle whatever comes their way.
Factory and Road Tested
In order to make the best shock absorbers on the market, Bilstein does more than any other make of performance suspensions to make sure that only the best leave the factory floor.
Everything begins with Bilstein’s own engineers. They have decades of experience, gained from making the best suspension components for the roads and racetracks of Europe. They take this expertise and pour it into creating high-performance, comfortable shock absorbers.
This comfort and performance comes from the fact that Bilstein shocks use a mono-tube gas pressure set up. This essentially means that there is separation between the gas and oil inside the shock. With this system, the oil does not foam up and the shock retains great performance and comfort no matter what.
Once they come off the production lines in Bilstein factories and each shock absorber undergoes a number of tests. This includes track testing at the world-famous Nurburgring track and Bilstein’s very own Papenburg facility.
Bilstein does this because they believe in covering every possible base. They want to know how their shock absorbers perform in every situation, because then they can be sure that they are passing on the very best to you.
