There are a number of methods for boosting performance in your vehicle, and engine upgrades are one of the most popular choices.
You might use a supercharger to pressurise the intake of air into the engine, raising it above the standard atmospheric level to create more power when combined with more fuel. Spinning at a + 50,000 RPM rate, a supercharger has the effect of forcing air into the combustion chamber, with positive results in performance.
Then there are cold intake kits, which are an aftermarket system that provides cool air for the internal combustion engine. This leads to better engine efficiency and performance, because air of a colder temperature is denser than warmer air, enabling more dynamic combustion within the engine due to a higher oxygen content.
And don't forget about weight reduction - this can be a shortcut towards optimised engine efficiency, making the car lighter and increasing speed, as well as making the vehicle more aerodynamic. While a low tech option, this overhaul - which can include taking out seats, using lighter brakes and replacing glass windows with acrylic varieties - can really make a difference when it comes to your quickness off the mark.
