Racing heritage
Cobra was started in the early eighties by a team of enthusiasts developing suspension for race teams in the Dutch touring car championship. Word quickly spread that they knew what they were doing. In 1995, the company started manufacturing its own springs to control development and quality.
A full range of springs and suspension units to improve handling and make lowering cars quick, easy and safe has been developed over the years. Now Cobra Suspension has one of the largest ranges, catering for a wide variety of makes and models, for street cars as well as race cars.
The Cobra slogan – “the power of control” – says that power is nothing in a car if your suspension can’t transmit as much of it as possible to the tarmac – all the time. And keeping the car under control, perfectly balanced, while you’re putting that power down makes it safer too.
Quality
Cobra buy the best quality high-tensile chromium-silicone wire from premium European steel manufacturers then cold wind them on CNC coilers. The springs are heat-treated and shot-peened before a phosphate treatment is applied and finally a resin powder coating is baked on.
This keeps corrosion at bay and gives you long life and top performance.
Quality doesn’t stop at the manufacturing process though. The enthusiastic team at Cobra Suspension are constantly adding new models to the lineup. This involves building suspension parts and kits, fitting them to donor cars and then testing to make sure that they enhance stock handling in safety, without sacrificing comfort.
Easy fitting
In many cases, lowering coils can be fitted over stock dampers. This needs to be checked because some coil heights will need replacement dampers too, but our comprehensive stock selector will help you make the right choice.
