Bilstein has been in the performance suspension business for decades. It all began in 1954, when Bilstein wanted to improve on the telescopic shock absorbers that were commonplace. Soon, Mercedes was replacing their telescopic shock absorbers, with Bilstein mono-tube gas shock absorbers taking their place.
It is these decades of experience, both on the road and across the racing tracks of Europe, which makes Bilstein the best when it comes to shock absorbers.
Bilstein B8 Shock Absorbers are the result of all of these years of designing, manufacturing and refining. Which means you are getting the very best when you use Bilstein.
Bilstein operates its own factories in Europe, America and China, in which Bilstein engineers oversee everything. Over the years, this has led to the creation of technology that puts Bilstein head and shoulders above the competition.
The result is shock absorbers like the B8, which can perform no matter what the conditions without sacrificing comfort or safety.
Bilstein B8 Shock Absorbers use gas pressure, mono-tube technology. This is the same system that Bilstein pioneered back in the 50’s and they still do it better than anyone else does. Under heavy loads or high temperatures, oil inside the shock can begin to foam. This means a harsher suspension and reduced performance, and gas pressure shock absorbers prevent this from happening.
B8 Shock Absorbers also have shortened piston rods in comparison to the Bilstein B6 Shock Absorber Range. This makes them ideal if you want to an extremely low vehicle profile. For some lowered vehicles, it can be hard to find shock absorbers that offset being so close to the road – the closer the vehicle is to the road, the bigger every bump and crack feels.
The shortened piston rods of Bilstein’s B8 Shock Absorbers translate to a smooth, comfortable drive even in the lowest, sleekest of vehicles.
- Bilstein’s decades of experience have gone into the B8 Shock Absorber
- Gas pressure, mono-tube technology means heavy loads or heat do not hamper performance
- Shortened piston rods offer comfort and performance for the lowest of vehicles
As well as being perfect for lowered vehicles, there are very real performance boosts that come from using Bilstein B8 Shock Absorbers.
Being lower to the road means a much lower centre of gravity, this, in turn, enables a much more responsive ride. With shortened piston rods, cornering and handling improvement become even more noticeable.
What our customers say about BILSTEIN B8 Shocks
What our customers say about BILSTEIN B8 Shocks “The Bilsteins are a huge improvement over the stock shocks. They work well with the lowering springs that I have as well. Great shocks for the price”
Problems such as body roll and lateral drift become things of the past, as the vehicle is able to cling to the road much more effectively.
Cornering at speed takes on a much tighter, sporty feel. Rather than fighting your vehicle in the corner, you have total control.
- As well as looks, there are real performance boosts from using Bilstein B8 Shock Absorbers
- A lower centre of gravity means a more responsive ride, which the B8 Shock Absorbers enhance further
- You no longer need to fight against the vehicle when cornering or handling at speed
